PuqPress Q2 Automatic Espresso Tamper

Brand new! Never been used. Tamp perfectly every time, regardless of skill level, and kick stress injuries to the curb. What's not to love about a Puqpress? On the surface, an electronic tamper may seem extravagant, especially considering the low price and high availability of traditional tampers. But manual tamping brings two big drawbacks: it isn't necessarily consistent, and it can lead to injuries if not done properly. Repetitive strain injuries are some of the most common reported by baristas, and in particular tamping with excessive force or at awkward angles can lead to strain at the wrist and elbow. Manual tamping can also be inconsistent day to day or between baristas, causing the puck to be tamped off-level here and there or with different amounts of force. But with a Puqpress, the barista can save their joints, and everyone can tamp firmly, consistently, and level every time regardless of skill level.

The Puqpress Q2 is a free-standing electronic tamper with a 58.3 mm flat piston, designed to tamp the same way every single time for millions of cycles. Initial setup is a breeze: just turn the Puqpress upside down, loosen the portafilter clamp with the included wrench, and set the clamp position using the thumbscrew on the base of the unit to snugly fit your portafilter (with a hair's breadth of wiggle room). Tighten everything back down, set the Puqpress upright and plug it in. From there you need only grind your doses and set your desired tamping force, from 20-60 lbs. The Puqpress piston will activate when you insert your portafilter, tamping twice in just under two seconds to reveal a fully compressed, even, and level puck of coffee.

To clean the tamper piston, first press the Cleaning button. This will extend the piston so you may safely remove residual grounds with a soft brush or cloth. DO NOT try to clean the piston without setting to Cleaning mode first, as the sensor may trip and trigger the piston, which could result in injury. Once the piston is cleaned, press the Cleaning button again to retract the piston.
